Red Tree Label Shoot

Last Saturday I ventured out with the makers of Red Tree Label and a bunch of their friends to do a shoot for the online catalog.  While they weren’t professional models, most of the time you couldn’t tell.  They were a blast to shoot with and the photos really captured the essence of their clothing and the company’s spirit.

Mandi & Chad are getting married!

They have infectious laughs…and Mandi’s smile brightens up even dark alleys and shines brighter than the lights at Coors Field.  Chad’s love for her does the same.  I have never seen two people laugh more!  It made the shoot so much fun.   Here are a few sneak peeks guys…hope you love them!  Looking forward to shooting your wedding in September.

Unpredictable Weather

Our unpredictable weather of late has postponed a couple of shoots that I am really looking forward to.  By unpredictable I mean the weather people here have no skill to actually predict the weather.  Yesterday it was predicted all week that it would rain, we rescheduled to shoot only to have a perfectly beautiful day.  UGH!  Heather & Bill and the Beasleys, I promise your shoots will happen and I can’t wait for them!

I’m got an awesome trash the dress and post-marriage engagement session coming up (they never had engagement photos) with my beautiful friends Michelle & Roberto which I am super excited for!

Other than that I am ashamed to say that the camera has not come out of its bag for over a week.

I do want to blog another of the beautiful women from the Mary Kay event a couple of weeks ago.  Irina you are gorgeous, stylish, classy & more!  It was such a pleasure shooting you.

Installment 2: Not Your Mama’s Mary Kay

As promised here is another of the lovely ladies from this weekend’s event.  Have I mentioned how much I love my job…to get to interact with fabulous people, and do what I love at the same time!  I hit the career jackpot I tell you.

So today’s beautiful lady is Annie…

Not Your Mama’s Mary Kay Event #2

Saturday was another Mary Kay customer appreciation day, and let me tell you this was another batch of amazingly beautiful women.   They were so fun to shoot, each one so uniquely, beautifully themselves.    Each day this week I will be posting one woman’s photos.

This is Dori.  Dori is from South Africa, she does business development for an identity security company and also is a Mary Kay consultant…what she should be is a super model.  Dori didn’t want anything on her shoulders when we shot…so she went into the bathroom and wrapped a scarf around her like a tube top and was ready to rock it.  And rock it she did.

Parker is growing up!

Do you remember this little bundle of joy?  Her mom, helped me out of my “how does a designer design for herself dilemma” by doing this new blog for me!  Parker was about 3 weeks old the first time I shot this wonderful family.  I knew immediately that this was one loved little girl…

Well Parker is now 3 months, and she is still beautifully, unconditionally loved.  Last time I shot Christin’s mom and dad with Parker, Christin and Keith.  This time I had the pleasure of capturing the family with Keith’s mom and sister.  Two more beautiful women added to this amazing family.   Parker I will say it again, you are blessed and loved beyond belief (and of course you deserve every sugary sweet (just like you in that strawberry outfit) ounce of it!)  One thing I love about shooting this family is that really no posing is necessary…each family member is so head-over-heels for Parker (and each other honestly) that the sweet moments that beg to be captured happen so often and naturally that you wish you had just 10 more minutes.

Here are some photos from our botanical gardens shoot…glad we did it last weekend instead of this one guys!

Unconventional “family”

When my kids were young, I had a nanny for a short time.  In my corporate work life I worked gobs of overtime and it just made more sense then daycare especially with twins.  Nannies are unsung heros as far as I am concerned, they bond with your children in a way that is only second to your bond.  They are teachers, helpers, nurses, friends, and more.  When my friend Jessica shared the fun night she had planned with the girls she nannies for because she is moving back to Boston, I had to be there to capture some of the love.  Ruby and Vivienne are sweet and spritely and Vivienne especially is a littly sassy.  These girls love Jessica so much, and she loves them right back in a big way.  Here are a few shots from their fun night:

Last ones from Saturday…I promise

I just had to share the youngest beauty from Saturday’s shoot.  She and her mom are so beautiful (have I over used that word a little much this week?) and sweet together.  Makes me miss when the girls were young (just a tad bit).    We are considering another event on May 2nd so if you are interested please leave a comment with your email address and I will put you on the mailing list!

More Photoshoot Fun

Because all of these women were so fabulous I wanted to feature a few more of them here…again ladies, you ROCK!!!

All the photos from Saturdays shoot were shot in a corner window of the hostess’ home with great natural light with the women sitting in a dining room chair.  It was not a sophisticated set up in the least.  But I don’t believe you have to have a lot of bells and whistles to get a great shot.   The shots required me to climb up on furniture, lay on the ground in the middle of the makeup lesson and more but I think the end results were worth it.  I hope the ladies do as well.
